    A Local Family Business

    We’re a small, family-owned HVAC company, serving Smithville and the towns around it since 2014. “We live here, raise our families here, and a lot of what we earn goes right back into our farm and animal rescue,” says Mike Peddle, who owns and runs the company. We use the products we’d put in our own homes, and we stand behind the work we do.

    Mike has worked in HVAC for 20 years. He holds TSSA gas, heating and industrial maintenance licences and a 313A refrigeration and air conditioning licence.

    Megan runs the business alongside Mike, and you’ll see both their names on our replies to your reviews. Away from work, the two of them run Black Goat Farm, an animal rescue and sanctuary.

    Common Questions

    Do heat pumps work in an Ontario winter?

    Yes. Cold-climate heat pumps are built to keep heating in temperatures as low as -30°C. For the coldest nights you can keep a gas furnace as backup (a dual fuel system) or add electric backup heat, and we’ll help you choose which suits your house.

    Should I repair or replace my furnace?

    It depends on the furnace’s age and the size of the repair. A common rule of thumb: multiply the furnace’s age by the repair cost, and if the result is over $5,000, replacing it usually makes more sense. We’ll give you both options and let you decide.

    What rebates can I get on a heat pump?

    Up to $7,500 through Ontario’s Home Renovation Savings Program if your home is heated with electricity, oil, propane or wood, and up to $2,000 if it’s heated with Enbridge natural gas. The rebate must be approved before installation.

    Do you charge to come out?

    Quotes for a new furnace, heat pump or air conditioner are free. A repair visit has a diagnostic fee, and we waive it when you go ahead with the repair or the system needs replacing.
